The Nissan LEAF is an all-electric five-passenger, five-door compact hatchback that is claimed to be the world's first affordable, zero-emission car.The LEAF is powered by an 80kW electric motor and 24kWh lithium-ion battery pack, enabling it to travel approximately 100 miles on a charge. The LEAF doesn't sacrifice features for efficiency either, standard features include a navigation system, six-speaker audio system with CD/USB/AUX and satellite radio, Bluetooth phone system, Intelligent keyless entry, push button start, automatic climate control, 60/40 folding rear seats and cruise control. All the usual safety features are here as well, six airbags, active front head restraints, stability and traction control, security system and front belt pretensioners are all standard. LED head and tailights provide safe lighting as well as using less power than incandescent bulbs.The 2013 LEAF now features a new entry S trim. Other changes include leather seating on the SL trim, a more efficient cabin heater, and an available 6.6 kW onboard charger, for reduced battery charge times.

Trips to lunch and nearby errands are easy?and even occasionally pleasant, given the serenity of the low-noise propulsion system and the no-shift, always-on power delivery.The Leaf's forte is short errands, where its linear power delivery and single-speed transmission take all the tedium out of stop-and-go traffic.
